Trip Introduction:
Api Himal Base Camp Trek is non-touristy trekking trail located in the Far-western region of Nepal, named after the highest mountain in the region. While trekking, one can observe the natural beauty and eco-system of the region, which is more than just the spectacular Himalayan scenery. You will come across steep gorges, subtropical to alpine forest, vegetation, pastures, grasslands, waterfalls, lakes, streams and wild animals. You will find mixed Nepalese community such as Brahmin, Chhetri, Mahara, Bohora, Thakuri, and others living in the region.
Trekking to Api Himal Base Camp is equally exciting for bird watching, experiencing local culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the diverse ethnic people still untouched by modernity.
Api Himal Base Camp Trek: the last frontier in Nepal
Api Base Camp trekking starts with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi. From Dhangadhi, we will drive to Gokuleshwor by bus, the start point of the trek and walk all the way up to the base camp of Mt. Api. We retrace our path using the same trail till Dhangadhi. The trip ends either with a flight to Kathmandu or a drive to Delhi from Dhangadhi.
Spring and Autumn are the best seasons to do Api Base Camp trekking. As per the grades, this trekking in Nepal falls under moderate trekking. So, anyone having any physical fitness, good stamina can attempt this trek in Nepal. Moreover, only group trekking is allowed in this area. A minimum of three weeks holiday is required.
Day 01 Arrival to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel
Day 02 Drive/fly from Kathmandu to Nepaljung
Day 03 Drive from Nepaljung to Mahendranagar 4 / 5 Hrs
Day 04 Drive from Mahendranagar to Gokuleshwor (290 km) 5-6 hrs
Day 05 Trek from Gokuleshwor to Karkale (900m) 2-3 hrs
Day 06 Trek from Karkale to Chiureni (1,100m) 6-7 hrs
Day 07 Trek from Chiureni to Makarighat (1,800m)
Day 08 Acclimitazation at Makarighat
Day 09 Trek from Makarighat to Seti (2,800m) 6-7 hrs
Day 10 Trek from Seti to Lawathi about 4hrs (3,000m) (Last village)
Day 11 Trek from Lawathi to Simar (3,300 m) 5 - 6 hrs
Day 12 Trek from Simar to Dhawaliwadar (3,800 m) 4- 5 hrs
Day 13 Trek from Dhawalidwar to Api Base Camp (4,100 m) 2 hrs
Day 14 Rest day and exploration to Api Himal Base Camp
Day 15 Trek from Base Camp to Saheb Bagar (2,800 m) – 6 hrs
Day 16 Trek from Saheb Bagar to Makarighat (1,800 m) 6 - 7 hrs
Day 17 Trek from Makarighat to Bitule (1,200 m) 5 hrs
Day 18 Trek from Bitule to Gokuleshwor (850 m) 5 -6 hrs
Day 19 Drive from Gokuleshwor to Mahendranagar 5 - 6 Hrs
Day 20 Flight from Mahendranagar to Nepaljung
Day 21 Flight from Nepaljung to Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel, Farewell dinner
Day 22 Transfer to the Airport for Final Departure
